SLM

Spatial Light Modulators (SLMs) enable the modulation of the phase, amplitude (intensity), and polarization state of optical energy. CRi collaborated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on the initial development of modern liquid crystal (LC) SLMs, and is the exclusive worldwide licensee of MIT's technology for bonded optical masks providing simultaneous phase and amplitude control in a single device.

CRi has been supplying Spatial Light Modulators to the ultrafast laser community for a decade, and continues to be the leader in liquid crystal linear-array SLMs. CRi offers both single-mask and dual-mask configurations for phase, amplitude, or simultaneous phase/amplitude pulse shaping. CRi SLMs also feature solid-state design for rapid, vibrationless operation, visible or near-infrared wavelength ranges, and a high-speed plug-and-play USB interface with Windows® DLL support, LabVIEW™ and Matlab® drivers.

Many of our SLM customers use Biophotonic Solutions' Multiphoton Intrapulse Interference Phase Scan (MIIPS™) technology, the simplest and most accurate method for characterizing femtosecond laser pulses and compensating for nominal dispersion effects.
