Nuance Multispectral Imaging System
The NEW Nuance 2 is a breakthrough system that converts any brightfield or fluorescent microscope into a multispectral imaging workstation. It can also be used for larger specimens, such as embryos, zebrafish, plants, or microtiter plates when mounted on a fluorescence macroscope.
The sleekly designed Nuance 2 features new analytical software that provides the user with enhanced spectral unmixing tools and more efficient CCD cooling for better low-light imaging. Spectral library building is now easier, using the Real Component Analysis (RCA) algorithm to automatically identify spectral signatures and the new Compute Spectra feature to properly identify true spectral signatures even when combined or overlapping.
Sensitivity has been improved, allowing discrimination of colocalized markers, even when present in different amounts, reporting the relative amounts of each marker and the percentage of each co-localized marker within the sample. At the heart of the Nuance 2 is the Flex liquid crystal tunable filter (LCTF) which provides fast, accurate spectral imaging from 420 to 720 nm (VIS model) and 500 to 950 nm (GNIR model), covering the full range of available chromogenic dyes and in vitro fluorophores.
The Nuance 2 optics module is compact and robust, with a standard C-mount coupling for easy integration onto existing microscopes. A tripod socket is supplied for remote-sensing, forensic, machine vision, or other macroscopic applications. A workstation computer with Windows-compatible multispectral imaging software is also included.
