Nuance™
Multi-label imaging without cross-talk
As biological imaging becomes more about studying complex systems rather than single events, Nuance multispectral imaging systems let you quantitate multiple molecular markers even when they are co-localized in a single tissue section, producing clear and accurate images of each individual label on a multi-label tissue section.
TRIO is the newest addition to CRi’s award-winning Nuance multispectral imaging (MSI) product family and is the most affordable of CRi’s systems. Its compact design and intuitive software make it an easy add-on to any microscope with a camera port. No advanced knowledge of multispectral imaging is required. Setup and operation are literally accomplished in minutes.
TRIO enables simple image capture and high-contrast separation of any three chromogens or any three fluorophores in its spectral ranges. Additionally, autofluorescence is removed, increasing signal-to-noise by up to 100x and vastly improving quantitation. It can take both high-resolution color as well as multispectral images, and automatically exports images in standard image file formats.

Brightfield immunohistochemistry with color re-mapping for legibility. Oral squamous carcinoma (FFPE, 20X) stained for CD34 (endothelium, Nova Red) and podoplanin (VIP, purple), and counterstained with hematoxylin. The spectral dataset was unmixed, the component planes re-colored (purple to green) and displayed as a composite image with improved contrast and legibility over the original.

Nuance systems can be mounted on any microscope with a standard C-mount and offer CRi’s patented multispectral imaging capability at the sub-cellular, cellular and tissue level. Nuance’s powerful combination of multispectral hardware and sophisticated data analysis dramatically improves tissue-based imaging.
For automated high-throughput multispectral imaging our Vectra intelligent slide analysis system lets you batch process up to 200 slides at a time. Vectra includes inForm, the advanced image analysis software program that addresses the biggest challenge facing microscopists once quantitative data has been acquired: extracting data. inForm’s intuitive learn-by-example interface means that you can train the program to create an effective solution by simply drawing around examples of what you want segmented in your images. It then creates a solution that you can subsequently apply across the entire image or across as many images as you want. inForm can be purchased separately for use with your Nuance system.
